WorldBlu® Awards | 20th Anniversary Nominations Open — Closes September 25, 2026 Do You Know an Organization
That Leads With Freedom, Not Fear?
Every year, a small number of organizations do something most organizations never will: they hand real power to their people.
They decentralize decisions. They tell the truth, even when it's inconvenient. They build accountability into the system instead of policing it from the top.
For 20 years, WorldBlu has found these organizations and given them a name: Freedom-Centered Organizations™.
This year, we need your help finding them.
Nominate them for the WorldBlu List of Freedom-Centered Organizations™ 2026— now in its 20th year.
Deadline to Nominate: Sept. 25, 2026
Awardees Announced: Oct. 29, 2026
Select WorldBlu Certified Freedom-Centered Organizations
We don’t measure culture.
We measure what creates it.
DOES THIS SOUND LIKE An Organization YOU KNOW?
Think of a for-profit, non-profit, educational or governmental organization with 5 or more employees. Maybe it's where you work. Maybe it's a past employer, a client, or a company you read about in the news and haven't stopped thinking about. Does it:
- Make decisions closest to the work, not just at the top
- Give people a real voice — and actually listen to it
- Let leadership happen at every level, not just the corner office
- Operate with real transparency
- Build accountability into the system, not enforce it through fear
- Already won recognition like Great Place to Work, Glassdoor's Best Places to Work, or something similar
You don't need a yes to all of these — even one or two might be reason enough.
If an organization came to mind, that's your nomination. You don't need to know everything about them. Just keep reading.

Why get certified?
You’ve Built Something Extraordinary.
Now Let the World Know It.
You've done the hard work. You've invested in your people and built a culture where energy, initiative, and real accountability are the norm — not the exception.
You've proven that freedom, not fear and control, drives performance.
So why does certification matter?
WorldBlu certification is fundamentally different from culture surveys and employee sentiment awards — and here's why that matters.
Most culture recognition measures outcomes — how people feel, how engaged they are, how likely they are to recommend your organization. That's valuable. But it doesn't tell the world why your culture works.
WorldBlu certification validates the why — the leadership operating system, the decision-making architecture, the structural principles that make your culture not just good, but replicable, scalable, and resilient.
That distinction is what makes this a different conversation entirely — with your board, your prospective hires, your customers, and your peers in the market.
When they see WorldBlu certification, they're not just seeing a survey score. They're seeing proof that your organization is built on a global standard of freedom-centered leadership.
That's a business credential.

Option 1: Know an Organization Who Deserves Our Award? Just Tell us Who.
You don't need details — a name is enough. We'll look into it ourselves.
We'll never sell or share your information — you'll only hear from us about this nomination and we won't reveal who made a nomination. By submitting this nomination, you confirm you have a reasonable professional basis for making it. See our Privacy Policy if you have any questions.
Option 2: Do you Know Even More About Them?
If yes, that helps us speed up the nomination process.

Option 3: Can you make a personal introduction?
Help us get an award invitation to them fast.
We're specifically looking for a connection to the person who could actually green-light an application — their CEO, CMO, or Head of HR/People. Know someone else there? Just say yes and we will send you a personal note.

Join Us at The
Lead with Freedom Summit
The Lead with Freedom Summit is the annual global gathering of the WorldBlu community—bringing together certified organizations, leadership program graduates, and executive leaders from around the world in powerful, in-person connection at historical sites for freedom and democracy worldwide.
This is where ideas become practical, relationships deepen, and leaders learn directly from one another at the highest level.
As a certified organization, you’ll be invited to attend. Select leaders may also be invited to take the stage to inspire and share how they’ve built their highly successful Freedom-Centered Organization.
This is the heart of the movement — where the connections, the conversations, and the courage to keep leading with freedom come alive. We can't wait to welcome you.
We Can't Wait to Welcome Them
You Could Be the Reason
They Finally Get Seen
Every company on this list got there because someone believed in them enough to say something. If [Company] earns certification, here's some of what your nomination could set in motion for them:
- Global recognition alongside WD-40, DaVita, Zappos, and Mindvalley — a credential their board, their customers, and their next great hire can actually see
- An invitation into a private community of CEOs doing this same work, solving real challenges together
- A seat at the Lead with Freedom Summit, held each year at the world's most storied sites of freedom and democracy
- Global media recognition that reaches further than any internal announcement ever could
- Something more personal than any of that: independent proof that the culture they've quietly built is exactly as rare as they hoped it was
You won't just be nominating a company. You'll be helping them find their people — the other leaders already doing this work, waiting for them to join.

FAQ
Have a question about nominating an organization? We have answers!
What is WorldBlu certification?
Since 2007, WorldBlu Certification has been the leading credential for organizations demonstrating excellence in organizational democracy and freedom-centered leadership.
Certification is earned through the rigorous Freedom at Work Scorecard, which evaluates workplace practices against the 10 Principles of Organizational Democracy.
Organizations must achieve a score of 3.5 out of 5.0 or higher to earn this distinction—proving their commitment to employee empowerment, fostering a thriving workplace culture, and driving business growth.
WHO IS ELIGIBLE to Apply?
Any for-profit, non-profit, governmental or educational organization with 5 or more employees that has been in operation for at least one full year can apply to become a WorldBlu certified Freedom-Centered Organization.
I want to nominate, but what if I only know the organization's name?
That’s absolutely fine! That’s an Option 1 nomination above. Just share the company’s name with us, and we’ll take it from there!
What if I know someone at the organization I want to nominate, but not the CEO or CMO?
Please share who you know — that can still be really helpful! For the personal introduction Option 3, though, we’re specifically looking for a direct connection to the CEO, CMO, or Head of HR/People, since they’re typically the people who can help move a certification nomination forward inside the company.
What if someone else already nominated the organization I was thinking about nominating?
That’s actually great — it simply means more than one person thinks the organization deserves to be recognized! We’ll count your nomination too, but don’t worry — the organization will only receive one notification from us.
Will the organization know who nominated them?
For Option 1 and Option 2 nominations, no. Your nomination is completely confidential, and we never share your identity.
A personal introduction, Option 3 above, is a little different, of course, because you’re choosing to make that introduction directly yourself.
Is there a cost to nominate an organization?
Not at all. Nominating an organization is completely free.
Is nominating an organization the same as applying for WorldBlu Certification?
No. A nomination is simply a way of saying, “We think this organization deserves to be considered.”
We’ll invite them to learn more, and then the organization can decide if and when they’d like to move forward with the certification process.
Will the organization start getting a bunch of sales emails from WorldBlu?
No — absolutely not. We don’t want a nomination to turn into a flood of sales emails. We’ll simply reach out to congratulate the organization, let them know they’ve been nominated for this prestigious recognition, and invite them to learn more and apply for WorldBlu Certification if they’re interested. From there, it’s completely their choice whether they’d like to move forward.
What are the Deadlines and Important Dates?
The deadline to apply for certification is Friday, September 25, 2026.
The annual WorldBlu List of Freedom-Centered Organizations Leadership + Culture awards will be publicly announced on October 29, 2026.
The Lead with Freedom Summit for all certified companies and the WorldBlu client community will be June 23-24, 2027 in beautiful Athens, Greece.

Magazine, BusinessWeek, Real Clear Markets, Leader to Leader, US News & World Report, NPR, the BBC, and dozens of other media outlets around the world as well as in over three dozen books.
Is WorldBlu or this award political in any way?
Not at all. Organizational democracy has nothing to do with political parties, governments, or political ideologies of any kind.
The term refers to how organizations are designed and led — specifically, replacing top-down hierarchy and control with systems where people have a real voice, autonomy, and meaningful participation in the decisions that affect their work.
Organizations of every kind, industry and all over the world — from family-owned businesses to global enterprises — have earned WorldBlu certification. What they all share isn't a political belief. It's a commitment to building cultures where people are trusted, respected, and empowered to do their best work.
At its core, organizational democracy is about power to the people. In today's complex, AI-driven world, top-down hierarchical organizations simply cannot compete — they're too slow, too rigid, and too disconnected to innovate at the speed the future demands.
WorldBlu certification recognizes the organizations bold enough to lead the way in the future of work.
I'd like to connect with someone about certification, how do I do that?
Great, we'd love to connect with you as well!
Please reach out to us at hello@worldblu.com.
We'd love to answer any of your questions!
